Habitat: Breeds in open coniferous and aspen forests with a shrub understory and winters in Douglas-fir and lodgepole pine forests (Cade and Hoffman 1990, Braun et al. 1991).

Range in Colorado: Resident in the foothills and mountains.

Status: CDOW Small Game Bird
