Violet-green Swallow Tachycineta thalassina
Habitat: Breeds mostly in aspen forests, around cliffs, and in towns, but also occurs in coniferous and montane riparian forests and in embankments. It forages along streams and over open mountain valleys. During migration it occurs around lakes and in riparian areas.
Range in Colorado: Summer resident, common in foothills and lower mountains, and uncommon to fairly common in higher mountains. Local in mountain parks, usually around their periphery or near buildings. Common spring and fall migrant in western valleys and eastern plains near foothills. However, it is rare on extreme eastern plains.
