The Natural Diversity Information Source provides maps and spatial data to the Colorado Division of Wildlife internet community. Both interactive maps and static maps are offered.
The NDIS core technology offers the ability to combine multiple layers of data (or maps), zoom functionality and access to attribute data. In essence, this allows the user to customize their map. A base set of maps, including CDOW Game Management Unit (GMU) boundaries, State Wildlife Areas and USGS 10OK and 24K shaded relief maps, has been created and can be found by clicking on this link: NDIS Interactive Base Maps.
Throughout the site, NDIS drapes, or adds, species specific maps such as Elk Winter Range or Largemouth Bass sample sites on top of our Base Maps. In this way, the user always has access to the Core Technology as well as the data of their choice.
The following Search Tool allows you to locate any of the maps that appear elsewhere on the site. As stated above, NDIS maps are either interactive, offering more flexibility but requiring slightly longer download times, or static, less flexible but quicker.
After your search results are returned, simply click on a Map Link tojump right to that map. Static maps are designated with a '(*)'.
