Gambel's Quail
Callipepla gambelii
Habitat: Semidesert, sagebrush, and rabbitbrush shrublands, and adjacent agricultural areas. Requires tall shrubs such as greasewood and tamarisk.
Range in Colorado: Uncommon to fairly common resident in valleys and low foothills from Garfield County south to Montrose County and in Montezuma County. Also occurs in the northern San Luis Valley.
