Hunting Sage Grouse Page


 Sage Grouse
 Centrocercus urophasianus

Habitat: It inhabits sagebrush shrublands. In summer, native or cultivated meadows, grasslands, aspen, and willow thickets adjacent to or interspersed with sagebrush are frequently used.

Range in Colorado: Fairly common local resident in northwestern Colorado, especially Moffat County, North Park, Middle Park, and the Gunnison Basin.


Status: CDOW Small Game Bird, CDOW WRIS Species, Federal Candidate Species, State Special Concern
