Green-winged Teal
Anas crecca
Habitat: Breeds in beaver ponds, marshes, and wet meadows. Also occurs on reservoirs and ponds in migration and in winter.
Range in Colorado: Common to abundant spring and fall migrant in western valleys, mountain parks, and on eastern plains. Uncommon to common summer resident in North Park, the San Luis Valley, and in mountains outside parks. Rare to uncommon in western valleys, other mountain parks, and on eastern plains. Common winter resident in the San Luis Valley in Rio Grande and Alamosa counties, and rare to uncommon on western valleys and on eastern plains.
